The Bathtub Refinishing Process for Pittsburgh
The process for refinishing a bathtub or bathtub
re-glazing begins with the removal of the drain cover and overflow plate. The Pittsburgh bathtub
refinisher must then remove any caulking that exists around the edges of the tub. If the bath tub refinishing was
done in the past, we then strip the old glaze from the tub.
The next step in the bath tub refinishing process
is to complete all necessary bathtub repairs. The bathtub surface will often need repairing. Our tub re-finishers
will repair the bath tub surface with body filler and sand the surface. We also grind down the areas that have rust,
build them up with filler and sand until the bathtub surface is smooth.

Before we begin the bathrub refinishing, the entire
tub must be masked off using masking paper and drop cloths. Using a tack cloth, our bath tub refinishers
clean the dirt and dust out of the bathtub and then sterilize it. The bathtub is now ready to be primed and then 3 coats
of the finish are applied. We use a fume exhauster to reduce the odor and any overspray during the tub refinishing process.
Finally, the masking paper is removed, our Pittsburgh bathtub refinishers apply caulking around the edges,
and the bathtub refinishing process is complete. Your bathtub will have a beautiful and glossy finish,
